Busy day with freebies

Finally got the rabbit pen done.  You know I just can’t put animals on wire.  I feel they really need grass and dirt.  Having all these pens mobile is nice.  No cleaning and great fertilizer.

Free animals.

My brothers girlfriend had these geese running around her yard.  We assume a dog got the mother.  I may try to get a breeding trio out I’d them.  I dont care about then being from the same family but once grown I’ll try to find a new goose.

I got rid of wilma the other day.   I dont need a second girl pig.  I want a pair or a trio.  Had a guy drive a couple hours to bring a pig he could no longer take care of.  He and dolly get along great.  here is the picture of Boss.  Its the one the guy had.  Better pics to follow later this week.

Animal swap

Wilma has left the farm.  I found her a new place to live.   Another of issue I’ve had its dolly being destructive.  Ages breaking all the animals out to eat the feed   my brother and brother in law spent a few hours making dollys pen pig sturdy.  The bottom row was zip tied.  We also electrified the whole thing is grounded out so its bit a strong shock but just enough.

I’ve also been working on a pen for the rabbits we got the other day.  This was a portable coop.  I’ve added a roof and hopefully will have it done tomorrow.

Animals everywhere

I walk out this morning and see this….

A pig.  Wilma has decided she doesn’t like her pen.  I need to redo it as she tends to leave whenever she wants to.

Baby bunnies.  My brother hit a best mowing.  I gathered them up.  I did singe research and found that the best could be moved up to ten feet dvd the mother would still find it.  Jackson and I rebuilt the nest and hopefully the mother will come back to it.  These 6 bunnies were about 10 days olds the best I can tell.

Happy EMS week…I think I’m going to quit despite it being a week devoted to us.   I livre the life of being on an ambulance.  I love the life if having patients age 3 to 100 years old.  I hate being held over every night., , its taking away from kid time.  I found it today that the VA was hiring.  Great money and a federal job.  With me being a vet I should be able to get on with little issues.

I’ll never understand

Why people dump animals.  If you have an animal you dont want out can’t take care of try to give it away.  Put it on craigslist our at the least take it to a shelter.  There was a guy a few towns over who came home from work the other night and this pig followed him down his driveway.  This girl was someones pet.  Shes friendly and does well with kids.  Her and dolly fight.  I built a big pen for her and named her wilma.  lets welcome wilma to the farm.

Jackson wasn’t much for helping dig the holes for the new pen.  Instead he spent this 90* day in the sprinkler.

Dolly

Dolly the pig.  She is a mini potbelly that I’ve had since the end if january.  I intended for her to be a house pig but she never got the whole house training thing.  She does great outside and loves pigging around.  this is an olds picture but I’ll get some better pictures soon.

Chickens and ducks.  They look so happy.  Well,.over the last couple days they have all been dinner for raccoons.  I have a couple left but most are gone.  I’m done with fowl until I can get a true coop built.  There is no point in me just throwing away money.  I have plans and dreams for my birds but for the time bring they are on hold.

The small garden is planted.  I’m working on the big one.  Its not getting done as fast as id like due to work.  It will be a late canning year.  Actually with my luck nothing will grow or animals will snack on my green buffet.
